The Cloud Building At South Korea

The buildings are called ‘The Cloud’ and they are being built in Soul, South Korea by Netherlands-based architectural firm MVRDV. In response to the obvious and immediate backlash due to its uncanny resemblance of the worst terrorist attack ever, that killed thousands of innocent people, MVRDV has released an apology on their site for anyone they may have offended and says that “the design inspiration of The Cloud is visualized in the first image on our website, a cloud covering the centre of the Skyscraper.” The disturbing buildings are scheduled to be completed by 2015. Earthquake 7.2 Magnitude Hits Turkey

7.2 earthquake has struck Eastern Turkey, making it the most powerful earthquake to hit the country in ten years.Tens of thousands fled into the streets running, screaming or trying to reach relatives on cell phones as apartment and office buildings cracked or collapsed. As the full extent of the damage became clear, survivors dug in with shovels or even their bare hands, desperately trying to rescue the trapped and the injured.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at least 93 people were killed in Van, 45 others died in Ercis, and about 350 were injured. Several people were still trapped under rubble, he said, without citing any estimates.Up to 80 buildings collapsed in Ercis, including a dormitory, and 10 buildings collapsed in Van, the Turkish Red Crescent said. The sheer number of collapsed buildings gave rise to fears that the death toll could rise substantially.

Japan Earthquake Crisis 2011

One of the largest earthquakes ever recorded hit Japan at 2:46 pm local time on March 11, triggering a massive 23-foot tsunami. The 9.0 magnitude offshore quake, the largest in Japan's history, was followed by hundreds of aftershocks. Japanese officials say more than 3,300 people have died in the disaster. The death toll is likely to continue climbing given the scale of Friday's devastation; extensive search and rescue efforts are still underway.


According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred about 169 kilometers off the east coast of Honshu.Japan’s government broadcaster NHK reported that the focus of the tremor was 10 km (6 miles) below the surface of the earth, off the coast of Aomori Prefecture.

Thousands of Brazilians and foreign tourists are partying in the streets of Rio de Janeiro, where the city's famed Carnival festivities are in full swing.Carnival parades have been taking place since Sunday, with fireworks and cheers of revelers who have been celebrating for days. Several processions have been staged, featuring extravagant floats with celebrities and scantily dressed bejeweled dancers from several competing samba schools.

A fire in early February ripped through warehouses in Rio De Janeiro where three elite samba groups were preparing for the carnival, incinerating more than 8,000 of the feather and glitter costumes as well as many of the massive, meticulously decorated floats.The five days of festivities, which began Friday, are expected to attract 760,000 visitors, spending £350m, in capital alone.

World’s Biggest Diamond Mine is located at Mirna, Eastern Siberia, Russia.
